F.A.Q.

The promotions can be found by clicking the "Promotions" button in the sidebar menu, located between this page ("F.A.Q.") and the "Links" page. Currently all promotions are separated by continent; Europe and North America (since America is large I preferred to subdivide it). In the selected continent or region, you'll be able to find the desired promotion, with each one having basic background information such as who founded it (NOT who currently owns it), the years they have / had been active, the geographical area they operate(d) in and the previous names they have/had used (if any). Each promotions page also contain links to a breakdown of events ran (by year) and an entrance music list.

The events are generally sorted by year, however sometimes I do make exceptions such as in the case of the secret season of CHIKARA. Likewise if a defunct promotion held fewer than twenty events total, those events will all be listed on a single page. For each event you will find all music used, plus information regarding the venue and the geographical location where the event took place. Here is an example from CZW's debut event:

Opening Night

Date: February 19th, 1999
Arena: CZW Arena
Location: Mantua, New Jersey, USA

-----[ENTRANCES]-----

The Brothers of East L.A. (Angel Vera & Bobby Muniz) - "Bucktown (Remix) (Instrumental)" by Cocoa Brovaz feat. M.O.P.
Derek Domino - "Born to Be Wild" by Steppenwolf
Extreme Fahrenheit (Heartbreaker & Mr. Motion) - "Sexual Thing" by Poison
Jon Dahmer & Jose Rivera Jr. - "Birth Ritual" by Soundgarden
Justice Pain - "Perfect" by The Smashing Pumpkins
The King Pinz (Price & Schaffer) - "Sabotage" by Beastie Boys
Lobo - "One Man Army" by Pro-Pain
Mr. Meaner - "Body Count's in the House" by Body Count
Nick Gage - "Little Crazy" by Fight
Quicksilver - "Aneurysm" by Nirvana
Ric Blade - "Another Body Murdered" by Boo-Yaa T.R.I.B.E. & Faith No More
The Sensational One - "Come With Me" by Puff Daddy feat. Jimmy Page
TCK - "Ruff Ryder's Anthem (Remix)" by DJ Clue? feat. DMX, Drag-On, Eve, Jadakiss & Styles P

The list is ordered alphabetically by (single) wrestlers on one side and tag teams / stables on another. Since this project is written in English, the article "the" will be omitted and it will be sorted out by the first letter of the second word unless the promotion has a different language. When it comes to people with two letters either on their full name; or first or last name, this will be added dots in between the two letters. Dots would not be required when it comes to initials having more of two letters. For example:

Wrestlers:

Chris Bosh

Gabriel Skye

G.Q.

Gran Akuma

The Grim Reefer

Pinkie Sanchez

TCK

For each listing the themes are displayed in chronological order. Firstly, the songs will be assigned its numerical value (01, 02, 03 and so on), followed by a space, a hyphen and another space. For example:

Chris Bosh
01 -

After that will be the song's title in quotation marks, followed by the name of the artist(s) / band / composer(s). For example:

Chris Bosh
01 - "Photograph" by Def Leppard

Next to it, there will be the release album release of the song between parenthesis. In some ocassions, the words "(EP)", "- Single", "(Mixtape)", "- Promo", etc. will be added next to the source. For example:

Chris Bosh
01 - "Photograph" by Def Leppard ("Pyromania")

However if the song was never "officially" released and was instead only made available through some other free digital outlet such as YouTube, SoundCloud etc. then the source will be ignored. Generally, with exception of video games, the source is mentioned by putting in the album source ("Video Game Name (Original Sound Version)". For example:

A.J. Styles & The Amazing Red
01 - "Perfect Cell" by Alex "DJ ALX" Wallbank ("Dragonball Q (Original Sound Version)")

Below the song information, there will be the event title and date from which the song was first used. For example:

Chris Bosh
01 - "Photograph" by Def Leppard ("Pyromania")
— [2005.05.14 - Best of the Best V: I Can Feel It... in the Air Tonight]

When a wrestler competes under different gimmicks/names, this is written down the following way:

Yuma
— Johnny Yuma
01 - "Sequence Erase (Instrumental)" by The Aquabats! ("Mega64 - The Soundtrack")
— [2016.11.19 - Night of Infamy 2015] as Johnny Yuma
— [2017.05.13 - Sacrifices] as Yuma

Next to the date, it is stated what song did the wrestler debut under that new name, which gives us to the next question.

I am a big fan of kayfabe so unless a promotion officially acknowledges a (usually masked) wrestler's previous identity, I will be keeping the listings separate. This was pretty common in CHIKARA, where on their official 101 ProBoards forum it is a bannable offense to reveal the identity of a masked wrestler. In this context, saying Peter Parker and Spiderman are the same person would be wrong.

This is rarely seen on the site but the number is added when multiple wrestlers have used the exact same name (but NOT the same gimmick) in the same promotion and is used to show which wrestler used the name first. An example of this is Deranged (1) and Deranged (2) in CZW, two completely separated wrestlers with completely different gimmicks but they used the exact same name, however Deranged (1) was in the promotion before Deranged (2) was, hence he is assigned the earlier numerical value. It should be noted that if the numerical value in parenthesis after a name is in Roman numerals (For example: "II" for 2) it means that it is a new wrestler continuing the other wrestler's gimmick (For example: Ophidian and Ophidian (II) in CHIKARA).

As you might have seen in the answer to question 2, the team / stables' official name (if indeed there is one) is written followed by the names of all relevant members in parenthesis. See:

- Events:

The Stoner Brothers (Rick Scott Stoner & Scott Rick Stoner) - "Stonerized" by The Hoodslam Band

- List:

The Stoner Brothers (Rick Scott Stoner & Scott Rick Stoner)
01 - "Stonerized" by The Hoodslam Band ("Hoodslam Jamz, Vol. 1: Fuck the Band")
— [2017.05.19 - The Darkest Timeline]

However, if there is a trio or members and only a few of them have a team name, all of the members will be listed by their individual names. For example:

- Events:

AceJack, Kevin Matthis & SEDS - "Funeral Music" by Alfred Kluten & Gabriel Urbain Faure (from Sonoton Music)

- List:

AceJack, Kevin Matthis & SEDS
01 - "Funeral Music" by Alfred Kluten & Gabriel Urbain Faure (from Sonoton Music | "SCD-0065 - Emotions - Romance & Bereavement")
— [2017.08.11 - Black Sails in the Sunset Flip]

Kevin Matthis & SEDS are collectively known as S&M but since they do not have a team name that includes AceJack, their names will be displayed individually.

The guidelines I follow to judge whether a tag team / stable is eligible for inclusion are:

1. The team / stable use(d) a unique song that no team member used in singles competition, or they use a mix of the members' singles songs. For example: Greg Excellent & Pinkie Sanchez using "Billie Jean" in CZW back in 2009 or Drew Galloway & Johnny Gargano using a mix of their singles music in EVOLVE back in 2016.
2. The team / stable must have a unique name and not just be "Wrestler X & Wrestler Y". However, what I am NOT going to list are teams named after their captain, for example: Team Gerard, named after its captain, Vin Gerard, but if the team is named by a nickname or the home promotion's name/initials, it will be included.
3. The team / stable must have had three or more matches together. This for me is the most important aspect since not all of the teams has an exclusive theme song nor an unique name. Take Brad Bradley & Ryan Boz from IWA Mid South as an example. Even though the duo never received a team name nor had unique entrance music, they teamed constantly while coming out to their singles music.

Also, if a team takes its time to debut a team name, their individual names will be noted on the date they came out together for the first time and another one for when they started using that team name:

The IronBeast (KTB & Shane Mercer)
01 - "The Handler" by Muse ("Drones")
— [2020.08.23 - Jimmy Lloyd's Jersey Shore] Loop Edit as KTB & Shane Mercer
— [2020.09.06 - Bring 'Em Out] Loop Edit as The IronBeast
02 - "Children of the Grave" by White Zombie ("Nativity in Black: A Tribute to Black Sabbath")
— [2020.10.10 - Joey Janela's Spring Break 4 - Spring Break Forever] as The IronBeast

It is also worth to note that some teams (specially stables) will be separated in iterations (using numbers between parenthesis, as seen in question 5) in case the original team stopped teaming but return months/years later, that iteration will be separated from the original one. A few examples would be The House of Truth (first iteration: 2009-2012 and second iteration: 2014-2016); The Embassy (first iteration: 2004-2006, second iteration: 2009-2010 and third iteration: 2011-2012) and The Kingdom (first iteration: 2014-2015 and second iteration: 2016-2019), all of them from Ring of Honor.

The colour red is used to indicate that some aspect of the information highlighted is unknown, it is usually used in conjuction with four question marks ("????") to illustrate this fact. The exception to this on the entrance music lists where you will sometimes see an event title and date shown in red for a listing, in this instance it means that the date given is the earliest confirmed usage of the song, but might not actually be the first time it was used in that promotion.

The tags I use are:

Edit: The song has been modified in some way to be different from the original song. This is usually used to indicate a short section of the original song has been removed. However, the edit must be used more than once in order to get the tag.

If the song was edited, the word edit will be added next to the date.

Chris Bosh
01 - "Photograph" by Def Leppard ("Pyromania")
— [2005.05.14 - Best of the Best V: I Can Feel It... in the Air Tonight] Edit

Alternatively, there can be more of one edit.

Chris Bosh
01 - "Photograph" by Def Leppard ("Pyromania")
— [2005.05.14 - Best of the Best V: I Can Feel It... in the Air Tonight] Edit #1
— [2006.03.11 - When 2 Worlds Collide] Edit #2

Intro: A short clip (usually consisting of a wrestler's quote, a soundbyte from a movie and / or a short section from another song in various combinations) has been added to the start of the song.

When an intro is used, it's stated this way:

Chris Bosh
01 - "Photograph" by Def Leppard ("Pyromania")
— [2005.05.14 - Best of the Best V: I Can Feel It... in the Air Tonight] Edit #1
— [2006.03.11 - When 2 Worlds Collide] Edit #2 w/ Pour Some Sugar on Me Intro

Keep in mind that: if it is a song, the title remains quoteless (as seen in the previous example). If it is a quote made either by the wrestler or by someone else, it will be written between quotation marks.

Chris Bosh
01 - "Photograph" by Def Leppard ("Pyromania")
— [2005.05.14 - Best of the Best V: I Can Feel It... in the Air Tonight] Edit #1
— [2006.03.11 - When 2 Worlds Collide] Edit #2 w/ "I Am the Best" Intro

If the intro was taken from a film/series, the name of the film/series will be between quoations, followed by the words "Sound Bite".

Chris Bosh
01 - "Photograph" by Def Leppard ("Pyromania")
— [2005.05.14 - Best of the Best V: I Can Feel It... in the Air Tonight] Edit #1
— [2006.03.11 - When 2 Worlds Collide] Edit #2 w/ "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" Sound Bite Intro

Aside from that, if the intro is actually a sound effect, the suffix "SFX" will be added next to the descripted sound effect with no quotation marks:

Chris Bosh
01 - "Photograph" by Def Leppard ("Pyromania")
— [2005.05.14 - Best of the Best V: I Can Feel It... in the Air Tonight] Edit #1
— [2006.03.11 - When 2 Worlds Collide] Edit #2 w/ Thunder SFX Intro

The slash (/) can be used to describe many intros used in order, for example:

Chris Bosh
01 - "Photograph" by Def Leppard ("Pyromania")
— [2005.05.14 - Best of the Best V: I Can Feel It... in the Air Tonight] Edit #1
— [2006.03.11 - When 2 Worlds Collide] Edit #2 w/ Pour Some Sugar on Me / Thunder SFX / "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" Sound Bite / "I Am the Best" Intro

However, unlike the intros, if the additional clip/quote plays throughout the song, the word intro is omitted:

Chris Bosh
01 - "Photograph" by Def Leppard ("Pyromania")
— [2005.05.14 - Best of the Best V: I Can Feel It... in the Air Tonight] w/ Chris Bosh Quotes

Chris Bosh
01 - "Photograph" by Def Leppard ("Pyromania")
— [2005.05.14 - Best of the Best V: I Can Feel It... in the Air Tonight] w/ Thunder SFX

In the events list, the song will be listed the following way

Chris Bosh - "Photograph (Chris Bosh Quotes Mix)" by Def Leppard
Chris Bosh - "Photograph (Thunder SFX Mix)" by Def Leppard

The plus sign (+) is used to indicate that there are both additions throughout the song on the left side and additions before the song would play on the right side. For example:

Chris Bosh
01 - "Photograph" by Def Leppard ("Pyromania")
— [2005.05.14 - Best of the Best V: I Can Feel It... in the Air Tonight] Edit #1
— [2006.03.11 - When 2 Worlds Collide] Edit #2 w/ Chris Bosh Quotes + Pour Some Sugar on Me / Thunder SFX / "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" Sound Bite / "I Am the Best" Intro

The multiplication sign (×) is used to indicate mashups. Here is one of them:

Sexxxy Eddy
01 - "Lapdance × This Is Why I'm Hot" by N*E*R*D feat. Lee Harvey & Vita / Mims

The songs are listed alphabetically whereas the artists are ordered by the way the songs are listed.

An asterisk (*) is used to indicate a scenario that is important at the time of listing a song. Here are a few examples:

Scenario #1: A wrestler entered to another wrestler's theme, either to fool the crowd or parody the wrestler.
Scenario #2: A manager walks out to their client's music to announce that their client will not compete in the scheduled match.
Scenario #3: A wrestler accompanies a tag partner or stable mate for their match concludes another (usually impromptu) match starts where the wrestler has to compete without getting his own entrance.
Scenario #4: A wrestler is accompanied to the ring by another wrestler but uses the accompanying wrestler's music.
Scenario #5: A wrestler's entrance is muted or cut entirely from the broadcast / DVD but is played briefly after the match. An example of this can be seen below with Daizee Haze's entrance:

Third Anniversary Celebration - Part 2

Date: February 20th, 2005
Arena: Montgomery County Fairgrounds
Location: Dayton, Ohio, USA

-----[ENTRANCES]-----

Allison Danger - ENTRANCE CUT FROM DVD
Daizee Haze - "Sensi" by Long Beach Dub Allstars feat. Tippa Irie*
Lacey - ENTRANCE CUT FROM DVD
Traci Brooks - ENTRANCE CUT FROM DVD

* - Despite her entrance being cut, it played briefly after she won the match.

In the events section, if the song is highlighted in bright green, it means it would not be included in the lists. This is done for people not coming out or wrestlers mocking other wrestlers. It will look like this:

The Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin) - "All Ghosts to Medicine Counter Four" by Christian Fitness*

* - Never came out.

All of the entries with this background color will have a note (*) specifying why it is not included on the site.

The thing is not all promotions show love for entrances in general. Some promotions cut entrances to save time on the DVD releases / live broadcasts, while others do it to avoid copyright infringement due to the extensive use of mainstream music. If all entrances were removed but the match winner's music was played after the match (or during an in-ring segment of some kind), a note written in block capitals will be added stating this. Sometimes if a couple of entrances remain intact on the event, these exceptions will be noted, however if more entrances are shown than not, the note is not required and instead an asterisk (*) will be used and the losers' entrances will be listed as removed. Some notable examples of this are the CHIKARA shows in Japan and the early PROGRESS and Fight Club: PRO shows.

Unfortunately some promotions remove entrance and post-match celebrations entirely, which makes it impossible to know what music was used. PWG is infamous for this as all events after their "Tango & Cash Invitational - Night 2" event from 2004 have all traces of entrances and post-match celebrations removed, making it impossible to document the vast majority of themes used in that promotion, however all shows of theirs prior to that point did include entrances, and those events have been documented on this site. The reason no further additions will be made to PWG's events is because I would rather base the information presented here on facts that I can personally verify instead of speculating on what might have been used.

These unbranded events can be found in #Miscellaneous", depending on the region selected. The hashtag is added for formatting reasons (namely so it can be displayed at the top of the list), it was not added just to look cool. Incidentally, if you type "/list" in the URL of the desired unbranded show, it will redirect to an secretly unofficial compilation of songs used on the events with its sources. For example "http://www.antdogs.com/thewemdb/promotions/na/misc/wrestlecon/list".

There are times when a wrestler walks out with his tag partner or stable mate and, through booking decisions takes his partner's place in a match, or an impromptu tag match is booked etc. A lot of scenarios can play out so this varies on a case by case basis, but if a listing differs for some reason rest assured it is always intentional and done with a reason.

I avoid these entrances as much as possible as listing every instance of this would make the site look incredibly cluttered. The only way I can list a wrestler NOT using an entrance song is if the wrestler is entering a match already in progress (for example: a Royal Rumble style match). Other than that, there is no possible way of documenting it and keeping the site tidy. However, if music is not used by a wrestler during an entrance for a match but is used when entering to the ring for a promo or segment on the show, a listing will be added.

There are two reasons for this; firstly it is very time consuming and secondly I want to avoid committing copyright infringement and running the risk of getting this site shut down. So sorry, this site is and will remain plain text only.

I know providing the ability to download songs would be a great feature, but it would also be the quickest way to get hit with a copyright strike and potentially a "Cease & Desist" letter, so in order to avoid that and keep this site going I will not be providing download links to any songs on this site.

I hate to say it but if I did get a wrestler's custom music I definitely would NOT share it. Being trusted with something like that should be considered a privilege as that wrestler has chosen to trust you with a copy of something that was made specifically for him / her. If they wanted everyone to have a copy they would likely make it available through their Twitter or a SoundCloud account etc. It is not unheard for wrestlers to give out a copy of their custom music to people willing to reach out to them on social media (or put you in contact with whoever made it for them), but it certainly should not be expected and if they do trust you with something like that then that trust should be respected. What I can provide you with however are recordings of any unknown tracks that you might be interested in.

Only one, and since I am a one man band doing all of the site maintenance, checking the shows, fixing mistakes etc. it all takes time. I appreciate the people that are willing to reach out and help though. Being that I maintain this website alone it takes a lot of time and effort to keep up-to-date with everything so this site is only updated when I can find the time to do so.

Of course! You can help me by identifying any unknown songs or by pointing out any errors you might find around the site (I only ask you not be rude in doing so please). Any big way you can help is by checking and documenting currently unlisted events and sending me a list of all of the songs used through that event via email, which you can find in the "Contact" section of the site.

Please keep in mind that all information on this site is presented from the editor's (ie: my) point of view, this site archives the songs used in each promotion and that information is for reference only from which your own conclussions should be drawn (ie: how a theme count should be structured etc.). I am however open to suggestions, but please keep in mind I reserve the right to either agree OR disagree with your suggestions, but know that I will always give a reason in the instance of the latter and all input is greatly appreciated! I hope you learn something new browsing this site and find the information contained within useful.
